Dr. David Recker, MD

David P. Recker, MD FACR FACP has over 35 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, and regenerative medicine development. He has held executive and advisory positions with several companies including Boots Pharmaceuticals, GD Searle, Takeda, Aastrom, and Vericel.

His pharmaceutical career includes substantial time spent in all phases of drug, medical device, and biologic development from preclinical to phase IV, and he has submitted multiple successful regulatory applications in both the U.S. as well as in Europe. His has effectively lead global development teams to gain approval for multiple marketed products, supporting them both in development as well as in the market.

Dr. Recker founded JJK Consulting, LLC which have advised several pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech companies. He has served as Chief Medical Officer for several of these companies including Vericel Corporation. While at Vericel, he oversaw the development and US approval for autologous cultured chondrocytes on porcine collagen membrane (MACI®).

Dr. Recker completed medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School and stayed at the University of Michigan to comple a residency in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Medical Resident.  He completed a clinical fellowship in Rheumatology at the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases as well as a research fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.
